Easy Breakdance has deep roots in Haiti. Manny, our founder, was originally from Haiti and is still in contact with the orphanage he was adopted from. Manny was first introduced to breaking in grade 8 by his math teacher and it has transformed his life, by helping him get through school and many hard times.
The goal of The Haiti Project is to bring top dancers to the country to teach Breakdancing, so it can inspire other people as it has Manny.
We believe that dance is a tool for connection – it doesn’t matter where you are from or how much money you have; we are all on the same playing field and it can be uplifting for everyone.
Breaking Deserts program
We are raising money for communities and schools that are isolated from the Breakdancing community, to help them bring in top dancers for workshops and classes. When you donate, the funds go towards the cost of travel and accommodation for instructors who go to these communities to teach. Our goal is to make Breakdancing accessible for everyone who wants to learn.
For every $300 we raise, we are able to send a pro dancing instructor to a school to help the young blow off steam, promote healthy living and increase confidence, as well as feel part of something cool!
